Magnetic Separators
Save money and downtime due to tramp metal contamination.
These magnetic separators are used to remove tramp metal from conveyors, chutes and hoppers in dry bulk processing equipment and systems. Magnetic separators can be placed inside or outside of product flows and are used in industries such as food, chemical, plastic, recycling, aggregate, grain and more. Custom sizes are available for some magnets.

Types of Magnetic Separators
Grate and Pipe Magnets
These types of magnetic separators are used in hoppers and chutes, as well as for customers manufacturing their own magnetic separation systems, or for replacement. The magnets can be ceramic or rare earth and custom sizes are available for some grate magnets.
Grate Magnets
Grate magnets are sometimes called hopper magnets and provide ferrous tramp metal separation in bins, chutes, drawers, hoppers, and circular enclosures. Choose from ceramic and rare earth grate magnets.
Pipe Magnets
Pipe magnets are also called tube magnets and they come in round or square styles. They are constructed using stainless steel and have mounting holes at each end. Standard pipe or tube lengths range from 4 to 48 inches long.
Magnetic Drawer-In-Housings
Metal is removed from dry bulk processing systems using magnetic tubes, or pipe magnets, contained in a drawer. The pipes can be large or small and are assembled in various patterns for maximum magnetic metal separation. The tubes can be cleaned manually or automatically by removing them using a slide out drawer.

Plate and Hump Magnets
These types of magnetic separators are high intensity plate magnets that have durable welded stainless steel construction and heavy duty hinges for easy cleaning.
Plate Magnets
Plate Magnets are used in applications that use chutes or conveyor belts. They are placed outside of the product flow and remove tramp metal from above or below the flow. All plate magnets feature performance engineering, rugged, welded stainless and steel construction, and use the finest magnet material available. They can use sanitary grade exposed poles that are USDA AMS accepted for dairy, meat, and poultry processing.
Hump Magnets
Hump magnets are also called plate-in-chute separators. A custom engineered chute with plate magnets can be built to fit directly into your existing processing lines. Customer specified inlet and outlet requirements can be used to design housings, transitions (rectangular or round), flanges, and more.

Drum Magnets
Rotating drum magnets remove metal from dry conveyed materials. They are self-cleaning magnets and can be purchased as the drum only or as the complete assembly with the housing and drive motor included.
Product material enters the top of the drum housing and flows across the surface of the drum. As the drum shell rotates around the stationary magentic field, all non-ferrous material falls free from the drum to downstream flows. Any ferrous tramp metal captured by the magnetic field is held onto the drum's surface. As the drum shell rotates, it is carried past the diverter and released outside of the magnetic field for collection and removal from the system.

Head Pulley Magnets
Magnetic head pulleys, also known as head roller magnets, are used on conveyor belts to improve product purity and protect downstream equipment from damage. They provide continuous and automatic removal of tramp metal from the product flow.
Product material on the conveyor belt passes over the head pulley magnet. Any ferrous metal in the material is attracted and held to the face of the belt and carried to the underside of the conveyor. The metal is released and discharged into a chute or bin for disposal. Clean product without the tramp metal is discharged normally over the pulley and to downstream equipment or processes.

Overhead and Suspension Magnets
Suspension magnets removal metal from a conveyor belt and can be permanent or electromagnets. They are designed for separation or removal of ferrous metal from a variety of over-the-belt or cross belt conveyor applications. These strong magnets can removal metal from deep product flows or from conveyors that are located at greater distances away from a suitable magnet mounting area.
