This automatic drum palletizer robot uses an arm to pick up and stack drums on shipping pallets. The end-of-arm tool can be adjusted, and the stacking pattern can be re-programmed to easily accept different types and sizes of drums. The robot is also set up to stack the drums with the labels pointing in the same direction.
These types of robotic drum palletizers typically handle standard 55 gallon drums made of metal, plastic, and fiber. The robotic arm shown in the video is manufactured by ABB. New Fanuc robotic palletizers are also available for these types of drum handling systems.
Shipping pallets can be fed automatically into the automatic drum palletizer robot using a magazine / automatic pallet dispenser or placed manually by an operator.
After the pallets have been fully stacked with drums, they are automatically fed to a pallet wrapper or strapper to secure the drums into place. Then, the pallets are conveyed to the end of a filled pallet accumulation conveyor where an operator with a fork truck picks them up for transportation to storage or shipping
