Process Description
A stack of empty trays is automatically conveyed into the robotic tray handling area.
1. The robot uses a custom gripper, or end-of-arm tool, to retrieve and pick up an empty tray from the stack.
2. It positions the empty tray beneath a dispensing or filling machine which discharges a pre-programmed weight of free-flowing food product.
3. Once the tray has been filled, the robot gently places the tray on a stack located on a powered roller conveyor.
4. When the stack is complete, it is conveyed downstream for packaging, freezing, or further processing.
This system includes stainless steel (SS304) contact surfaces and is fully compatible with FDA and USDA sanitary requirements.
