These dry urethane screens were used on 16 screening machines to classify dry hydraulic sand or frac sand.
The highly abrasive 20 to 120 mesh frac sand was causing rapid wear of existing wire mesh screens. Average failure of wire mesh screens was occurring in 3 to 5 weeks at a flow rate of 20 tph.
To solve this problem, the customer installed new urethane screen panels on 16 existing Derrick Corporation screening machines. With the new screen installed, the screening machines were able to run non-stop for 5 months with no loss of production time due to panel changes.
This increased the total product output by over 10%!
These panels are available in both standard rectangular openings and “sq” square openings where the product specifications require holding a tolerance of less than 1 to 2 percent.
